The Storytime Monthly Story Writing Competition is a brand new and deeply exciting initiative wherein Storytime collective members may submit a story (fiction or non-fiction) of no more than 1,500 words with a new theme every month.
This theme is made available to paid members of the Storytime collective.
The writer of the best story will be awarded a cash prize of £100. They will also have their work published on the website and will be invited to perform a story at a Storytime event if they would like to do so.
All submissions are anonymised before being judged by a panel of readers from the Storytime collective.
How to enter
This month’s deadline is 11.59pm on Wednesday 30 September 2026. Submissions should be emailed to stories@storytimelondon.com with the subject line:
My Submission to Storytime Monthly Story Writing Competition: September 2026.
To make a submission, you will need to be a paying subscriber.
There are no set criteria - good stories come in many different forms and shapes. Points will be awarded for originality, experimentation and creative risk-taking.
Winners will be announced the following week.
